copynthat's
motorsport legacy lifeline

you're a motorsport team.

Your on-track results can’t be guaranteed, but there can (thankfully) be some reliability and consistency for your online performance.

I’ve seen motorsport teams try - and fail - to keep up with the latest TikTok trends in the hope of going viral and securing some more followers.

But the reality is that this approach isn’t building your legacy, your reputation or your fanbase. Most of the time, you’ll get a nod of acknowledgement that you were part of the trend, but once it dies off in a few days, you’re no better off.

So what do you do to boost your followers, increase fan engagement and maintain them both to build a community for your fans?

Well, there are three core pillars:

  • Visual

  • Audio

  • And the one that’s most ignored: Written

Here’s how I can solve your problem:

Written content is the longest-standing medium within motorsport - and for good reason. Ever since the inception of Formula 1 and MotoGP in the 1940s, races at the pinnacle of motorsport have been written (quite literally) into the history of the sport.

Sadly, not all levels of racing have kept up with documenting their successes.

By producing written content like blogs, articles, Q&As, race reports, and press releases, you’re tapping into the fanbase on an emotional level. There’s a reason motorsport is more popular than ever - fans love the drama and excitement. By having written content produced for you, your team will be en route to outliving any viral meme or TikTok video. Trends are second-hand news by tomorrow, collecting dust in the gravel trap along with the odd door mirror or wheel nut.

“Lewis is an excellent copywriter - I HAD to reach out” - Scott Mansell, Driver61

Perhaps you don’t have the capacity to create written content for yourself. Or maybe you don’t see the value in documenting your results.

Motorsport rarely lets off the throttle, so while your drivers are rounding the final corner, your eyes are already on the next event, leaving little opportunity to add their successes to your archive.

I’ll integrate my 3+ years of copywriting and 20+ years of motorsport experience into your team, your brand voice and your desires. I’ve written for EA Sports, Hyundai WRC, KTM and Red Bull, so your team is in safe hands.

This is all part of:

copynthat’s motorsport legacy lifeline.

Catchy title, even catchier promise.

Here’s what you’ll get:

  • Quality written content that helps your team grow its fanbase and reputation in the motorsport world (no viral trickery here)

  • Greater headspace to focus on what you do best - securing results on track

  • Unlimited access to a professional copywriter (that’s me) who knows a thing or two about motorsport

  • And, ultimately, a written legacy that stands the test of time and makes sure your team is remembered.

Here’s how we’re going to do it:

The fundamentals are simple:

  1. Show up (consistently)

  2. Engage and entertain

  3. Build awareness and reputation for your team

And the longer we tackle this, the easier it gets.

Fans will eagerly await the race reports or articles they’ve come to expect and enjoy. They’ll spread the word with friends and family and maybe even spend their hard-earned cash on some of your merch (which makes them a walking billboard for your team). And so the cycle continues until your team is on everybody’s lips and sponsors are breaking down your door to partner with you.

That’s the long-term goal. But first…

Let’s break down the process:

Step 1 - Pit Lane

This is where we get things up and running. We’ll outline a schedule of written content and goals for the next 3 months. We’ll spend the first two weeks experimenting with different pieces of content to see what’s a hit with your current fanbase. This way, we’ll know when and where your audience will be showing up and what they like to see. If you have a race schedule you need me to work alongside, this is the place to share it.

Step 2 - The Hot Lap

I get cracking, crafting unputdownable content for your team. While you’re racking up the results on track, I’ll be taking care of documenting your legacy as it unfolds. These will be delivered on time for whatever deadlines you have throughout our time together, so you can simply post and go.

The work is yours to use as you please (unless you choose ‘The GOAT’ package, where I manage your content for you).

Step 3 - The Debrief

Each month, we’ll review the performance of the content to determine the approach for the next batch of work.

Legacies aren’t built overnight, but this is a long-term investment into your team’s imprint on the industry. Pretty soon, you’ll see:

  • A growing fanbase

  • A more engaged community

  • Documented accounts of your performance on- and off-track.

The outcome?

Bespoke, memorable and quality written pieces of content to grow your team’s online footprint.

When your on-track results are lacking (because even Max Verstappen makes mistakes sometimes), you can rest assured that your content output is consistent and serves the long-term goal of a fleshed-out legacy for the motorsport history books.

And that’s what every team wants, right? No point winning if there’s nobody to cheer you on.

This is an investment into making you a well-known entity in your respective series.

Work with me and we’ll get your team right where you want it - in front of fans and sponsors.

And more fans = more opportunities to make money from ticket sales and merch.

So don’t think of this as a cost. Think of it as an investment into how you picture your team down the road.

The risk is non-existent. You’ll see an increase in your online presence and your ROI will grow as a result.

Here’s why:

I believe that every motorsport team has something worth shouting about. So, if you don’t see a positive shift in fan engagement and awareness… I’ll jump on another 1:1 call to discuss our journey together and look at the numbers - free of charge. FAQs

1. How does it work?

We start with an induction. We’ll have a 60-minute discussion to get us aligned on your vision.

This will cover what you want to achieve from your written content, with the long-term goal of growing a fanbase and legacy within motorsport.

You might want race reports, driver biographies, or behind-the-scenes interviews with team members - I’m here to make those a reality.

If you have a tone guide or brand voice already, this is where we’ll discuss it.

If not, I’ll work with you to develop one, so all content has a consistent tone and flow. In this instance, your first month will have 1x less piece of content created as I develop your unique tone of voice (See Q3 for pricing).

Oh, and if you’re ever in need of anything, I’m available on a 1:1 basis via WhatsApp.

2. Has it worked with other clients?

It sure has.

I’ve worked with some of the biggest teams in motorsport to develop and grow their written content output. So if my offering is good enough for Hyundai WRC, KTM and businesses within MotoGP, there’s no reason I can’t do the same for you.

3. How long will it take?

The minimum time I recommend is 12 weeks. By agreeing to any of the packages, you secure me for 3 months of written content creation.

During this time, we’ll review the content performance every month to help direct the flow for future output.

A legacy won’t be forged in three months. This is a long-term commitment, but some positive progress will be visible once the initial 12 weeks are over.
